Introduction
Whenever I hear homeland security intelligence, I associate it as an organ of defense against agent nefarious and terrorism that wishes to jeopardize the United States interests' and person. The impression is how DHS policies are centered and structured towards responding, protecting, preparing for, and preventing an act of disaster, human-made disasters, and natural disasters at territorial, state, and local levels (Bennett, 2017). In the United States, there are several intelligence disciplines whose role is to collect intelligence to assists the national security in boosting decision making processes at the national level. At the local level, intelligence collection disciplines help the allocation of law enforcement resources and tactical military resources. The Central Intelligence Agency specifies three essential cornerstones that explain intelligence discipline, which include Covert Action, Counter-intelligence, and Collection of Foreign intelligence. Although codified law has not yet defined homeland security intelligence, DHS has activities and terms that extend beyond the two traditional intelligence types defined by the executive orders and legislation, such as counterintelligence and foreign intelligence.
The FBI
If Gravano committed crimes of terrorism against ordinary civilians against ordinary citizens, then he can still be taken as an informant. The reason is based on the concept of offering unique assistance to the FBI in investigating sensitive matters such as an act of terrorisms (Kraft & Marks, 2016). Surprisingly, it implies that an informant may be involved in criminal enterprises or criminal activities just like Gravano and be recruited by the FBI based on his status and access. Because he cannot testify in court, he will be useful in preserving anonymity. Indeed, Gravano took countless mafia members. If the hypothesis holds in terms of terrorism, it implies that he cannot take down many terrorists. In essence, Gravano will be able to provide credible and useful information to a Justice Law Enforcement Agency concerning the terrorism act. One thing that makes Gravano a better informant is his truthfulness and reliability. From this perspective, anyone will believe that Gravano suits the position as his trust and honesty cannot be compromised, which is a unique feature that is highly appreciated by the FBI.
US Intelligence Agency Employee
