Introduction
For several decades, there has been a critical argument regarding the animal test. A large number of individuals have criticized the application of animals in the test laboratory (Doke and Shashikant 227). In which, some have termed the action as inhuman due to the kind of environment the animals are subjected. Usually, a large number of animals have lost their lives; in particular, over 100 million animals die every year due to laboratory testing (Doke and Shashikant 224). Additionally, after the process, the animals are left incapable of engaging in some psychology processes, such as reproduction. The aspect mostly occurs since animals are confined in hostile environments as they are required to experience a harsh living condition. Despite the criticism, the application of animals in the laboratory has assisted scientists in developing chemicals, medicines, cosmetics, and other products, which have little effect on human beings (Meigs et al. 279). The aspect has assisted in improving various fields, especially medicine, and therefore, it has become easier to solve health problems. The application of animal test has been portrayed by inhumane action; however, the process has a great value in the development of fields such as medicine. As such, I believe that the application of animal tests should continue until scientists find the best way for the process.
Hostile Environment
In my perception, the application of animal tests violates their rights by subjecting them to critical environmental conditions. A laboratory in a confined place that has different environmental conditions as compared to natural surroundings. Animals are required to be reared in the laboratory, where they adapt to different living conditions. However, the process has subjected animals to have diverse responses to the materials used in the laboratory. As a result, researchers have been forced to use animals that live in their natural habitats. Habitats have become a critical aspect that scientists considered before subjecting an animal to a test (Doke and Shashikant 227). Additionally, the application of animals that have already adopted in the natural environment provides a good approach that scientists use to understand how a chemical may respond to humans (Doke and Shashikant 228). In case the chemical provides a positive response, it is clear that the results will be almost the same for human beings. The process helps to reduce toxic chemicals to humans, which may result in dangerous actions and even death (Würbel 32). If a human cannot be subjected to the same conditions, it is inhumane to use an animal for the same. Therefore, the development of medicine poses a critical health hazard to animals.
Cosmetic Testing
The application of animal tests in the production of cosmetics has triggered a lot of issues in their health. Generally, firms that have used an animal to test cosmetic products mostly have found different outcomes when an aspect is presented to human beings. The factor has been triggered by different skin structures between people and animals (Würbel 41). In this case, the cells that are used in the production of skins are different in people and animals. Animal exposure to the harsh environmental condition has been a key aspect that triggers different products response. As a way of overcoming the harsh conditions, animals develop a skin texture, which is resistance to some products (Meigs et al. 303). Therefore, the application of an animal test in cosmetics may not prove the right decision for the company before a product can be released to the market, and the action only subjects the animal to torture.
Chemical Testing
Despite a lot of critics associated with animal tests, there are positive aspects that are associated with the process. The application of animal tests has assisted scientists in developing chemical products, which are safe for human use. Animal testing has reduced the application of human beings during product testing. Even though the application of animals may not provide the exact information regarding the outcome of the products, the researchers are able to release products, which have less negative effects on human beings (Würbel 38). The aspect has helped in reducing issues that may arise when a chemical is first subjected to human beings. During the test process, if the animal provides a negative outcome, the researchers definitely learn that the product has not achieved the required standard for people to use (Meigs et al. 299). Therefore, the product cannot be released to the market for human use since it can lead to more negative effects. In this case, the application of animal test plays a vital role in ensuring products released to the market are safe for human use.
Additionally, the application of animal tests has assisted in the production of vaccines and drugs that are effective for human bodies. Scientists use the process to determine the effectiveness of a vaccine, and in case of default, they will be in a position to control to ensure they release quality drugs for human use (Würbel 30). Usually, very few individuals would risk their lives for them to be subjected to a test. Therefore, the only alternative is through the application of animals to ensure vaccines are safe for human use. Additionally, the life of an animal that is being tested cannot be compared with that of people (Meigs et al. 280). In this case, most of the animals that are used have a short gestation period, and hence, it is easier to produce as compared to human beings.
The Sensitivity of the Human Body
Through the assistance of an animal, researchers have managed to produce critical products, which would not otherwise be produced, especially if human beings were to be used. Some chemical products are critical, and hence, they require careful testing before they are used by human beings, such as animal far has been used in the same way as human hair (Würbel 27). The aspect has assisted in the production of aspects that are critical in human cells. Due to the complexity associated with particular products, it becomes difficult for researchers to subject them to human beings for a test (Meigs et al. 278). Therefore, animals such as rats provide a good ground that is used in the testing of these products.

The application of animal tests has been associated with both pro and con. Nevertheless, the pro seems to favor human beings more as compared to animals. The application of animal tests has assisted scientists in developing chemical products, which are safe for human use. The aspect has also helped in the production of some sensitive products, which requires careful care before they are released to the environment. In this case, the process of human testing should continue until research develop good ways to use when developing medicines, cosmetics, and other products. Although a lot of time may be used in research on alternative options, nations should invest more in the study until the solution is found. However, researchers should continue using animal tests during their studies.
