Introduction
Slavery still exists, and it is called modern slavery. Modern slavery is all around us, but often just out of sight. People can become entrapped, making our clothes, serving our food, picking our crops, working in factories, or working in houses as cooks, cleaners, or nannies. For some of us, it can look like a regular job, but when people are being controlled and forced to do a job, that is slavery. In some cases, we see people working underpay for the essive amount of hours. On the other hand, we can see in different countries minors working hard jobs.
Most of the time, people have to submit themself to that abuse to bring food to their loved ones. 1 in 4 of them are children. Almost three quarters (71%) are women and girls. Over 10,000 were identified as potential victims by the authorities in the UK in 2019 (Kara, 2017). In the United States, the victim's color or the defendant's skin determines whether a person may be subjected to the death penalty. Since 1976, people color have estimated about 43% of the total execution, whereas 55% of these victims await execution currently.

Body: forms of modern slavery
Forced labor- it is a form of slavery of people are being forced to provide services or work against their will as the masters threaten them with punishment.
Human trafficking- the majority of people that deal in human trafficking use violence, threats, coercing transport as they recruit people that are meant to be exploited. The main reasons for doing human trafficking are for such people to be forced into prostitution, organ removal, labor, marriage, and conduct criminal activities.
Debt bondage –is the most common form of slavery in modern days. People get trapped in poverty hence have to borrow money. In that case, they are forced to work to pay off such debts. They lose control over the conditions of employment and the debt as well.
Enslaving children- children may be enslaved for the benefit of the enslavers. They are exploited for their gain. Enslaving children includes activities such as child trafficking, marriage, and child domestic slavery.
Conclusion: the reason why there are people trapped in modern slavery is that they are vulnerable to getting tricked, trapped, and then exploited. Freedom for everyone needs to be encouraged as those found in acts of slavery get punished severely.
Narrative
The belief is that everyone everywhere has the right to live free from slavery. However, the current situation is totally different because many people are still trapped in slavery in most countries. There is still the existence of minority communities that other superior ones look down on as they still enslave them. Modern slavery exists in the form of severe exploitation of other people for purposes such as personal or commercial gain. Slavery is still happening even when people do not recognize it. People could be trapped into making clothes, serving food, working in factories of houses as slaves.
The death' moratorium penalty is crucial in addressing blatant prejudice in the normal use of the death penalty. Although the whites estimate to about one-half of every murder victims, they are involved in 80% of every capital case (Mehra & Shay, 2016). In October 2002, it was reported that 12 people were executed with murder victims being black and the defendant as white as compared to 178 defendants from the black race executed for killing white victims. Over the years, reports have suggested there is an existence of the death penalty in every pervasive use of racial prejudice.
A report released by the New Jersey Supreme Court displayed that the death penalty law of a state has a higher chance to succeed against a defendant who murders a white victim. Further, studies reveal that a white victim is three and a half times more likely to get a death sentence as compared to the black. In Philadelphia between 1983 and 1993, a vote of 52% was cast by potential black jurors to remove a total of 23% jurors (Mehra & Shay, 2016).
The Department of Justice within the United States displayed the outcomes of the initial federal survey of death penalty prosecutions. The results showed that the federal penalty, as it is applied in the states, is disproportionately handled against people's color. Out of the 18 prisoners in federal death row, 16 of them belong to Asian, Hispanic, and the blacks. Since racial injustices and death are more pronounced in the United States, long-term effects of trauma are perpetuated.
Intersectionality
The term intersectionality refers to an approach in the social sciences that says people's life experiences are determined by the different social categories a person belongs to. Examples of these social classifications include race, gender, sexual orientation, and nationality. For instance, in the United States, a white, heterosexual woman who is a legal immigrant will have very different life experiences compared to a Hispanic, non-binary woman who is an illegal immigrant.
It is clear to see that intersectionality, as a historical approach, is how previously excluded or ignored African American perspectives can be made part of the discussion. Consequently, the intersexual approach asserts that disparate kinds of social experiences (e.g., racism, classism, sexism, and xenophobia, e.t.c.) are both indivisible and interdependent in nature. Hence, social privileges and discrimination are determined by the unique position in a society a person has.
Traditional/classic histography focuses on significant events and personalities in the past. A post-modern approach to histography examines the daily lives of ordinary people as they experienced historical events.
Post-modern histography became the basis for transplanting intersectionality into the academic inquiry into African American history. Primary sources (such as diaries, ships logs, letters, newspaper reports, and personal journals)from ordinary people living in antebellum South, the Reconstruction era, the Gilded Age, and the Civil Rights era have become essential to learning about these significant periods in American history.
The reason why there are people trapped in modern slavery is that they are vulnerable to getting tricked, trapped, and then exploited. Freedom for everyone needs to be encouraged as those found in acts of slavery get punished severely. The government should be on the front line to ensure they change the systems that enable people to get trapped in slavery, such as social, economic, and political aspects. This way, people can live free from the fear of getting exploited.
