Introduction

There has been a very serious debate concerning the issue of whether or not gun control laws need to be enacted. Most of the people have a varying perception of what it means when the laws are broken down. My position in relation to gun control is for more laws about it to be enacted. The laws would help in reducing gun deaths, and also such laws for gun control are needed for women protections against domestic abusers. On rare occasions, do the guns used in the areas of self-defense. However, there could be some of the critical areas that would be analyzed, which could be exempted under certain rules. For instance, too much gun control is likely to have an impact on the hunting sports (Kwon, 2012). Besides, the citizens’ privacy is likely to be exposed in case of hardening the rules for the gun industry. Gun control may stop the probability of crime commitment.

Reasons

The reason why gun control laws may result in the reduction of gun deaths is because there will be a reduced quantity proportion of the guns within the society. When there is easier availability of guns, then more deaths are likely to occur within the society by the use of the guns. The more exposure to the guns out there, then the more crimes will be committed through gun usage. Also, the guns are needed for women protection against domestic abusers as well as the stalkers. This is because of the fact that it becomes easier to commit a crime against the wife in the presence of a gun within the room.

In many cases, the provoking of anger by an interpersonal relationship in case of a simple mistake within the house is very high. Hence in such a situation, the last ownership to have is the gun. It is important to impose specialty law may be to play against such an act. For instance, it can be stated that no one who has ever been involved in the past with issues of domestic violence cannot have gun ownership.

Aspects of Self-Defense

In the aspects of self-defense, guns are not commonly used. This is because when the emotions shoot high during the anger, the use of the guns owned will always be the only alternative. The statistics of the self-defense are less regarding such a point and will be depicted lesser and lesser with few guns out there. However, at such a point, I may be obsessed with going for both ways. In this case, then I will only agree for one to have a gun. But if the offender has no access to the gun, there is no gun to act as his defense (Lott, 2013).

In many cases, despite the laws that have been put in place, most of the men and women own guns. In some situations, the lawbreakers may flee from the scene upon realizing that their intended person owns a gun. There have been some of the scenarios where the owners of the gun hold an offender until the arrival of the police. The hunting sorts are also a societal violence feed. In these cases, there is a need for more of the guns to be accessible.

I am not for more of the gun control laws to be enacted. This is because the laws will give too much power to the government and hence may lead to the government’s tyranny and the government taking away all the guns from the citizens (Michael Planty, 2016). From this point of view, if the guns are taken away by the government, then there would be no efficient way of protecting oneself when the time is right. In my opinion, the citizens would not be in a position to protect their families and also themselves. Hence the rates of crime commitment would increase, and the criminals will be projected to take the upper hand. The idea could be true since there is already too much power by the government. The cases of suicides can be prevented in case there is togetherness since more gun controls will lead to fewer cases of suicides (Lester, 2008).

I hence think that I have encountered two kinds of biases, which include the hindsight bias and anchoring bias. One of the factors that would have influenced my biases is because the first piece of information which I encountered is the second amendment, which incorporated the right to bear arms. The fact that I might have had exposure to the military could make it better that I possess a gun as I will know how to use it as well as protecting my family against it. Having said this, my position on the matter remains the same, i.e.; it has not changed. It is important to note that gun control laws will never stop criminals. The statement that the laws in gun control reduce gun deaths leads to fewer suicides, and guns being rarely used in self-defense is not necessarily true. Always the guns are used in protecting the citizens from being the victim. In addition, guns also protect law offenders from targeting other people. Hence more gun control law would eventually not protect the law-abiding citizens but will avail an easy opportunity for the criminals. The citizens mainly protect themselves by any means necessary, and therefore, I don’t see the need for putting more laws out there.
